Day - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 27, 1979 Funeral services for Bernice W. Day, 87, were held at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson, Miss., at noon under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Day died Saturday at her residence after a short illness. Mrs. Day was a native of Holmes County, Miss. and a resident of Tallulah for 54 years. She was a member of Tallulah First Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Herbert B. Day of Alexandria; a daughter, Joyce Day of Port Arthur, Texas; two brothers, George F. Wilkins and C. L. Wilkins, both of West, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Abelle McNeer of Lexington, Miss., and Mrs. Pearl McLellan of West; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Johnnie Wilkins, Jimmy Wilkins, Dale Jones, I. T. Crothers, James Morris and M. C. Stone.
