(Billy) DeMoss, Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 23, 1966 Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon for Billy DeMoss Who Was Killed In Auto Wreck Funeral Services for William M. (Billy) DeMoss, Jr., 22 who was killed instantly Friday of last week in a car-pickup truck collision about four and a half miles south of the Monroe city limits on rain slick La. Highway 15, were held at p. m. Sunday in Crothers Funeral home Chapel. Services were conducted by Rev. Underwood assisted by Rev. Clark Bell. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. According to reports young DeMoss was traveling south on Highway 15, also called the Winnsboro Road, and reportedly lost control of his car going around a curve. The spinning auto crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck driven by William C. King, 59, of Mangham. Two other passengers in the pickup, Latimore Powell and Tedia Powell both of Monroe were taken to a Monroe hospital in serious condition following the accident. He was a graduate of Tallulah high School and had attended Louisiana State University and Northeast State College. He and his wife resided on Melvin Drive in Monroe. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joyce Foy DeMoss; Monroe; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Billy DeMoss, Tallulah, four sisters, Mrs. Barbara Jo Reeves, Monroe; Mrs. Alice Roper, Monroe ; Miss Beth DeMoss and Miss Kay DeMoss both of Tallulah. Pallbearers were Charles Gordy, ???? Platt, Richard Peeples, Chapnan Lee, Truman Collins, Pat Gilfoil, C L. Keene, and Rufus Yerger, Jr.
