All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Harry Hue Devine - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal April 17, 1996 Harry Hue Devine, age 83, of Diamondhead, Miss., died Tuesday, March 12, 1996, in Gulfport, Miss. He was a native of Vicksburg, Miss., a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, past Commodore and member of Diamondhead Boating Association; instructor for Coast Guard Auxiliary; member of Gulfport Power Squadron. Before retiring to Diamondhead he was an active member of Optimist Club in Macon, Ga. After retiring from Proctor & Gamble after 42 years as an executive, he obtained his U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license and worked as a supply boat captain out of Morgan City, La., until the age of 73. He was an alumnus of Virginia Military Institute, a member of Diamondhead Golf Association, a senior warden of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Macon, Ga., and a former resident of Tallulah. He was preceded in death by his parents, John High and Augusta Progner Devine; and one brother, Delma David Devine. Survivors include his wife, Blanche Baine Devine of Diamondhead, Miss.; one son, John Devine of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Katherine Frye of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Harriet Devine of Coral Springs, Fla., and Louise Devine-Holley of Tallahassee, Fla.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A 2 p.m. Memorial Service was held Friday, March 15, 1996, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead, Miss., where friends called one hour before service. Edmond Fahey Funeral, Bay St. Louis, Miss., was in charge of arrangements. The family prefers donations to be sent to St. Thomas Episcopal Church Organ Fund.
