Donald Ray “Don” DeWeese - Madison Parish, Louisiana
April 7, 1965 ~ October 20, 2023 58 Years Old

From Crothers-Glenwood  Funeral Home Tallulah, LA October 22, 2023

Donald Ray “Don” DeWeese lived his life like no other. He was an amazing person with unwavering Christian faith, unbounded love for family, and an unparalleled work ethic. He ascended his stairway to Heaven on Friday, October 20, 2023, at his home in Tallulah, Louisiana, at the age of 58, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

Don was born on April 7, 1965, in Delhi, Louisiana, to James Edgar and Ada Iva McMichael DeWeese. He grew up in Tallulah. As a young adult, he decided to expand his horizons and spent time living in Texas, California, and Florida. These travels and experiences helped him learn to appreciate home, so he returned to Tallulah to raise his family. While working to provide for his family, he spent the longest times with the teams of API Outdoors and Goldman Equipment, both located in Tallulah. He also dedicated his life to raising his girls and leading his family in worship and serving Christ as an active member of First Methodist Church Tallulah.

Those who have gone ahead to make a path for Donald Ray include his parents, Ed and Ada DeWeese, his beloved Aunt Fern, his brother-in-love, Elmer Busby, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those remaining here to celebrate his life and legacy include his wife of 23 years, Paula Mayeux DeWeese; his girls Dezaraé Peeples (Brett) and Vanessa Staton (Rustin); grandsons, Everett Joseph and Samuel Wade; granddaughter, Mary RayAnn; brother, Bill DeWeese (Tina), sister, Debbie DeWeese Busby; niece, Lacy; and nephews, Eric, Bill, Jeff, Joey, David, and Shannon, as well as their families.

Funeral services for Don will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at First Methodist Church in Tallulah with Bro. Henry Stone officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be Brett Peeples, Rustin Staton, Brian Matlock, Eric Busby, Bill DeWeese, and Hayden DeWeese. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Goldman Equipment family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to First Methodist Church Tallulah.
