She was the first born of four daughters. Mary accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended school in Louisiana, where she later met and married the love of her life, Walter Dexter (who preceded her in death). To this union they were blessed with three wonderful children, Aldean, Minnie, and Walter Jr. (Walter Jr. also preceded her in death). In December 1953, she and her family moved west to Las Vegas, where she was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Mary was a member of Grace Immanuel Baptist Church of several years. Later she moved her fellowship to the Greater Mt. Sinai MRMI where she served as a mother of the church under the teaching of Dr. S.S. Rogers, Pastor. The Father called Mary home to rest Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, 2006. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Minnie Kinsey of Compton, Calif., and Aldean Dawson; a special grandson, Harold Chirse (Jacqueline); a special niece, Mary Smith, all of Las Vegas; her sister-in-law, Pearlie Singleton (Rev. Singleton); her three wonderful grandchildren, Walter III, Brenda and Stephanie Kinsey; six great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The viewing will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 2, with services to follow, both at the Greater Mt. Sinai MRMI Church, 1025 Balzar Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89106.
