Jimmie Dunn, 64, Columbus, GA, died Wednesday January 8, 2014 at his residence. Graveside Services with full Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. SFC Dunn was born April 24, 1949 in Tallulah, LA son of the late Rufus Ira Dunn and Rubie Thornhill Dunn. He was a SFC mechanic in the United States Army and served in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. After leaving the Army, he worked for KBR as a civilian contractor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and LSU fan. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brother; Thomas Elvin and a sister; Mary Lillian. Survivors include his loving wife; Nancy Tucker Dunn of Columbus, GA, two sons; Kevin Dunn of Woodstock, GA and Joshua Dunn of Columbus, GA, sisters; Lee Shumate and Josephine Case, brothers; John E. Dunn, Jr., Billy Joe Dunn, and Andrew Jefferson Dunn, three grandchildren; Zachary Kokenzie, Quinlyn Robertson, Marleigh Dunn, several nieces and nephews.
