Dykes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 28, 1972 J. C. Dykes rites held Funeral services for J. C. Dykes, 48, of Tallulah were held Friday at 2 p. m. in the First Baptist Church with the Revs. Crawford Williams and Cloy Chapman officiating. Burial followed in Providence Memorial Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Dykes was pronounced dead on arrival at Madison Parish Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at work. He was maintenance superintendent for the City of Tallulah and had worked for the city for the past 27 years. A native of Haynesville, he was a member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eva Dykes of Tallulah; one son, Joe Dykes of Austin, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Ann Metoyer of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Connie Johnston of Alsatia, and Miss Janie Dykes of Tallulah; his mother, Mrs. Alma Glascock of Houston, Tex.; and one brother, Albert Dykes of Houston, Tex. Pallbearers were Randy Horn, Ransdell Kirkpatrick, Otis M. Gunn, M, O. Gunn, Crayton Laughman, Louis Nettles, E. B. Towne and Jackie Lott,Jr. Honorary pallbearers were employees of the City of Tallulah.
