All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Emma Jean (Williams) Eaker - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal September 4, 2015 Emma Jean (Williams) Eaker, 89, of Union City, Tenn., died Mon., Aug. 17, 2015, at The Magnolia Place in Union City. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Cecil Sewell officiated. Graveside services were conducted at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church, 500 East Church Street, Union City, TN, 38261. Eaker was born April 1, 1926, in Winnsboro. She was the daughter of the late W.E. "Ned" and Mabel (Madden) Williams. She married Billy Burton Eaker January 19, 1947. He died July 23, 1993. Eaker was a resident of Richmond for 54 years prior to moving to Union City 15 years ago. While living in Richmond, Eaker served as mayor of Richmond, office manager for Shelton Cotton Company and as a registered nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tallulah until moving her letter to First Baptist Church in Union City. She was a member of the LAEL Sunday School class and the 39ers at First Baptist in Union City. She was a member of the Third Review Club of Union City, where she served as president in 2005. Eaker was a dedicated member of Order of Eastern Star Madison Chapter #94 since 1947. She is survived by one daughter, Billie Jean Rich of Union City; one son, James Robert "Bobby" (Tammy) Eaker of Union City; one brother, Glen Leslie (Jo Ann) Williams of Crowville, La.; three grandchildren, Felicia (Bill)Thompson of Knoxville, Kathryn Rich of Martin and Jeannie (Brett) Ashley of San Angelo, Texas; and five great grandchildren, Reagan Lee Thompson, Madison Rich Thompson and Sophie Jean Thompson, all of Knoxville and Haleigh Jo Ashley and Jase Lee Ashley, both of San Angelo. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Faye "Sister Baby" Jones and Elaine Davis; and two brothers, James "Buddy" Williams and Fred Williams.
