All rights reserved. ************************************************ Sue Fairly Edrington - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Baton Rouge Advocate July 23, 2016 Sue Fairly Edrington was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on October 17, 1920. She moved to Baton Rouge in 1938 when she was a freshman at LSU. She passed away at her home on July 22, 2016. She is survived by her husband, William Emmett Edrington, Jr. of Baton Rouge, daughter, Susie and husband, Buzzy Heroman of Baton Rouge, son, Billy Edrington and wife, Leah, of Baton Rouge and daughter, Lynn, and husband, Mark Edwards of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Bill Heroman and wife, Sarah of Arlington, Texas; Ben Heroman and wife, Adria, Robert Heroman and wife, Sarah, Blair Edrington, Will Edwards, and Fairly Edrington – all of Baton Rouge, Taylor Edwards and Laura Edwards of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren Bo and Emma Heroman of Arlington, Texas, and Towns, Clint, Mary Cate, William, Claire, Madelyn and John Robert Heroman- all of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by her parents William Towns Fairly and Sue Darden Fairly, her sister, Dorothy Fairly Coad, and three brothers, William, Jack and Bob Fairly. Sue graduated from Tallulah High School in Tallulah, Louisiana, and attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was a member of the Junior League of Baton Rouge, Rebels Dance Club, Questors Book Club, Chapter AF of the PEO, and the Sewing Club. She was a dedicated volunteer at Mary Byrd Perkins Cancer Center for more than 25 years. Sue was an active and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, having met her husband there in 1946. Sue and Bill married in 1947 and celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on June 2. Sue was the fourth child of five. She was born with a patient and kind nature; filled with wisdom and joy, and loved by everyone who knew her. She loved her family and her many dear friends. Her children passed on her wise sayings some of which include, "Be sure your sins will find you out", "Keep your life simple, and you'll never be sorry", "Time will tell", "A soft voice turneth away wrath" and "Don't wish your life away". The Graveside Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday July 25, 2016 at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11AM- 1 PM with a memorial services at 1:00 in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 763 North Boulevard. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons. Special thanks to her caregiver, Lisa Morris. Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Heritage Ranch Christian Children's Home or The Hospice of Baton Rouge.
