E. Ervin, Sr., Held In Miss. Monday Succumbs Sunday Morning After Heart Attack Hollis Edward Ervin, Sr., 49-year-old resident of Tallulah, died Sunday morning, January 27th at 2:15 at his home, 313 S. Walnut street, following a heart attack. A native of Crystal Springs, Miss., Mr. Ervin had resided in this community the past eight years, where he had been connected with the grocery business until a few months prior to his death, when he was employed by Chicago Mill & Lumber Co. as a shipping clerk. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. A short service was held, at Young's Funeral Home Monday morning at 8:30, and the body was taken overland to the County Line Baptist Church, Crystal Springs, Miss., where funeral services were held. The Rev. Shirley Briggs, pastor of the Tallulah Baptist Church officiated, assisted by the Rev. R. J. Sweetman, pastor of the County Line church. Interment followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, in the Church cemetery. Pallbearers were T. D. Carr, S. E. Lingle, F. F. Barnes, Cary Taylor, Roy Ervin, James Ervin. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Conn Ervin; three sons, Hollis Ervin, Jr., Tommy Ervin, both of Tallulah; Ira H. Ervin, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss.; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Gilbert, Mrs. Jeff Thomas, both of Tallulah; four grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest Ervin, Pope Ervin, Tommy Gwinn Ervin, all of Crystal Springs; three sisters, Mrs. F. F. Barnes, Crystal Springs; Mrs. Tom Hollingsworth, Lexington, Miss.; Mrs. Dave Willis, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
