All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ John Homer Erwin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 2, 1978 Funeral services were held for John Homer Erwin, 86, Sunday in Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches with Rev. Woodson McGuffee officiating. Burial was in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Mr. Erwin died in the St. Frances Memorial Hospital in Alexandria after a lengthy illness. He was a retired surveyor for Bacon & Davis in Monroe, a veteran of WWI and a member of the Baptist Church in Natchitoches. He was a former resident of Tallulah. Survivors include three sons; Myron Erwin of Tallulah, John Erwin, Jr. of New Orleans, Bill Erwin of Alexandria, three daughters; Mrs. R. E. Anderson of Arlington, Va., Mrs. N. E. Shehan of Mariette, Okla, Mrs. Bobby Roan of Natchitoches, three sisters; Mrs. Lula Dale of Kirby, Ark., Mrs. Lantha F Funderburk of Beverly Hills, Calif., Mrs. Lettie Winneman of Vince, Calif., seventeen grand-children, and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mike Erwin, Johnny Erwin, Steve Roan, Bobby Roan, Chuck Roan, and Jack McCrocklin.
