ERWIN DIES AT HOME IN TALLULAH TALLULAH, La., Jan. 31-M. P. Erwin, one of the oldest citizens of Tallulah died at his home here Monday at the age of 85. He was a native of Mississippi but had been a resident of Madison Parish or a number of years. He Was a member of the Methodist church and the Knights of Pythias. Mr. Erwin was married to Miss Mathilde Craig, of East Carroll Parish, who was the mother of his four children. His second wife was Mrs. S. O. Devine, of Lake Providence. The funeral will take place from the Methodist Church here Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. W. H. Giles, pastor of the church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. D. C. Barr, of Oak Ridge. Interment will be in Silver Cross Cemetery here. Active pallbearers will be Will Holmes, W. R. Gilfoil, D. B. Allen, D. E. Martin, J. L Canon and C. S. Pierce, and honorary pallbearers: J. B. Snyder, A. J. Sevier, W. M. Murphy, Dr. G. W. Gaines, of Tallulah, W. R. Gilfoil of Omega and Mr. Galloway, S. A. Marcus, J. C. Bell, Robt. Nicholson and J. C. Bass, of Lake Providence. Mr. Erwin is survived by two sons. M. P. Erwin, Jr., of Lake Providence, and Ernest Erwin, chief engineer of S. S.
