All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Nellie Ferguson Erwin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 18, 1959 Mrs. Nellie Erwin Dies Saturday Following Illness Mrs. Nellie Ferguson Erwin, died at a Vicksburg hospital last Saturday afternoon. She was a native of Franklin Parish and had lived in Tallulah for the past 22 years. She was a member of the Montrose Baptist Church and the Tallulah Chapter of Eastern Star. A short service was held at the Young's Funeral Chapel Sunday morning with the Rev. James Brown officiating. The body was taken to the home of her brother, P. L. Ferguson at Wisner and it layed in state there until 11 a. m. Monday. Funeral services were held at the Central Church of Wisner with Rev. J. A. Bry, conducting the services assisted by Rev. Joe Sylvio. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Lee Erwin of Tallulah; two sons, Leslie Erwin, Jr., and Thomas Edward Erwin, both of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin C. Kidd, Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, P. L. and Willie Ferguson of Wisner; five sisters, Mrs. Jim Germany, Mendenhall, Miss., Mrs. Hoke Dupree and Mrs. C. L. Dupree, both of Wisner, Mrs. Elmer Tackel, Gilbert, and Mrs. Ethel Beabu. Fresno, Calif. Pallbearers were Hoke Dupree, Jim Germany, C. L. Dupree, E. L. Tackel, Gene Owen and Lee McMahon.
