All rights reserved. *********************************************************************************************** Dr. Edwin Thomas Evans - Madison Parish, Louisiana From The Baton Rouge Advocate November 9, 2013 Dr. Edwin Thomas Evans (Dr. Ed) died Thursday in Tallulah, LA. He was 89. He was the son of the late Robert Frederick Evans, Sr. and Evelyn Miller Evans. Dr. Evans was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School in the Class of 1941. He attended Louisiana State University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola School of Dentistry in 1947 later serving in the Navy. He practiced Dentistry in Vicksburg for 42 years retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Mississippi Dental Association, the American Dental Association and numerous other professional organizations. Dr. Evans was a communicant of St. Edward Catholic Church in Tallulah, LA and while living in Vicksburg was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 898 in Vicksburg where he was a past Grand Knight and a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Betty W. Evans of Tallulah; two daughters: Susan E. Corona (David), Leslie E. Falgoust (Brian) both of Baton Rouge, LA.; two sons: E. Mark Evans (Lea) and Wade Evans both of Baton Rouge, LA.; stepdaughter: Nancy Sevier, Shreveport, LA and two stepsons: Marshall Sevier (Sharon), Mangum, LA and Mike Sevier (Linda), Tallulah, LA.; seven grandchildren: Scott Ray, Bart Evans, Helen Evans, Tori Naquin, Megan Fontenot, Evans Falgoust and Brett Falgoust; six great-grandchildren: Braden Ray, Bennett Ray, Caroline Evans, Colton Ray, Catherine Evans and Madeline Naquin; sister: Mary Barber, Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers: Brother Carl Evans, SC of Thibodaux, LA and George Q. Evans (Carol), Jackson, MS. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Rosemary Angelo Evans; two sisters: Evelyn Mouton and Madeline Franco; six brothers: Fred Evans, J. W. Evans, Miller Evans, Harry Evans, Earl Evans and Bobby Evans. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11AM Saturday, November 9, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 AM Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church until the service. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Vicksburg Catholic School, 1900 Grove Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183; St. Edward Catholic Church, 204 E. Bayou Drive, Tallulah, LA 71282; St. Paul Catholic Church, 713 Crawford Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180 and the Louisiana State University Tiger Athletic Foundation, Stadium Beautification Fund, Post Office Box 711, Baton Rouge, LA 70821. Pallbearers will be Dr. Ed's four grandsons, two stepsons, and Willie Cooper and Bruce Dorbeck.
