Evans - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 10, 1952 Tallulah Loses One Of Best Citizens, Richard L. Keller Dr. Ralph P. Evans Dies Suddenly Here Dr. Ralph P. Evans, age 66, died suddenly at his home, 1011 South Walnut Street, Tallulah, last Friday, October 3, about 3 a. m. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, also a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. He graduated from the University of Tennessee. A native of Bastrop, La., he practiced medicine in Alexandria for a number of years, and in Tallulah for the past 12 years. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Rainbow Division, and had been decorated by both the America and French governments for his war service. He was a First Lieutenant in the Medical Corps. Funeral services were held in the Episcopal Church in Tallulah, at 2 p. m. last Saturday, the Rev. J. Daniel Gilliam, pastor officiating. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery at Bastrop. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Young's Funeral Home of Tallulah. Pallbearers were his nephews: Lancaster Kell, Mandeville Kell, Dr. George Webb, Barry Mitchell, William Bowers, Judge E. L. Gladney and W. K. Evans, Jr. Dr. Evans is survived by one daughter, Miss Barbara Evans, of Alexandria, La.; five sisters, Mrs. T. P. Kell, Mrs. Flora Bowers and Mrs. George Webb, all of Tallulah; Mrs. Evelyn Mitchell, of Lake Providence., and Mrs. E. L. Gladney, Sr., of New Orleans; two brothers, A. Evans of Tallulah, and Dr. W. K. Evans, Lake Providence, La., and numerous nieces and nephews.
