He was born in Delhi, LA and split his life between Louisiana and Mississippi. He served in the United States Air Force and was retired from International Paper Company as an Instrument Electrician. He was devoted first and foremost to Christ, his Lord and Savior and secondly to his family and friends. We are truly comforted to know that he is singing with the angels and we will see him again one day. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Sheldon was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and loved to tell fishing stories to all who would listen. He loved his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with others. He genuinely enjoyed people and never met a stranger. Some of his greatest stories were from participating on mission trips building churches and sharing the Gospel. Nobody left his home hungry as he was an excellent cook and it gave him great pleasure to be able to bless others and have them enjoy what he prepared. Additionally he had a passion for restoring old cars and there was nothing broken that Sheldon Ezell could not fix. He was a remarkable man with many talents, a sense of humor, love of life, strong character, a man of great integrity and example of strong faith. Though he was not a saint it is well known that there was always love in his hands. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Ezell and Lessie Inez Hale Ezell. Survivors include Lillie “Midge” Wright Ezell, his loving wife of 27 years, sons George Thomas Ezell of MS Dennis Nicholas (Suzi) of VA, daughter Dawn Ezell West (Jack) of TN, sisters Patricia Powers of TX and Eileen Brown of LA, brother Malcolm Butler of LA and eight grandchildren John Lee, Brandon, Ty, Audrey, Emma, Amelia, Ashton, and Katherine.
