All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Dorothy Jean Farish - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 22, 1965 Local Resident Killed Tuesday In Car Wreck At press time Thursday, funeral arrangements for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Farish, who was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on the Vicksburg Bridge were not completed, but services will be held in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. According to the reports on the accident, Mrs. Farish was riding with John T. Kitchings of Epps, and he has been charged with driving while intoxicated and negligent homicide in connection with the traffic accident. Kitchings was identified as the driver of the auto in which Mrs. Farish was riding. Reports said Kitchings' car swerved across the center line on the Mississippi River Bridge and collided head-on with a, truck-trailer driven by Edgar Denson, Jr., Negro, of Dallas, Texas. Denison was uninjured. Kitchings was hospitalized in a Vicksburg hospital with head and internal injuries, a broken right arm and deep lacerations of the face. Mrs. Farish was 31 years old and the mother of six children. Survivors include a son, Woodrow Farish, five daughters, Jimmie, Kathy, Deborah, Beverly Jean and Susan; and her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hill, all of Tallulah; a sister, Mrs. Corine Swayze of Frankfort, Germany; two brothers, Thomas D. Hill of California and George C. Hill of Hawaii.
