A graveside service for LaWanna Shows Faught,75, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday January 12, 2022 at Rose-Neath Cemetery 5185 Swan Lake Spur Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 12, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 2201 Airline Drive Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Reverend Brad Franklin.

LaWanna was born the second of four children on March 4, 1946 in Delhi, Louisiana to Alton Shows and Annie Belle Shows and passed away peacefully at home on Saturday January 8, 2022 with family and friends.

LaWanna graduated from Tallulah High School before attending Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree - Double Major both Speech Defective and Hard of Hearing and Elementary Education. She taught for Bossier Parish School Board before moving to Rapides Parish School System. She also obtained a Double Masters first in 1988 Master of Education in Special Education, and then in 1990 a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education, both from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana. With the birth of her grandchild approaching, she moved to Gonzales, Louisiana in 1999 where she taught Early Childhood Development for the Ascension Parish School Board before retiring.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Curtis Todd Faught; in-laws, Leon Faught and wife, Edith. LaWanna affectionately known as "MawNana" to family and friends is survived by son, Leon "Trae" Faught III; sisters, Lourdine Panquin, Lorene Stembridge, Lynnette Williams; grandchildren, Grandchildren June Amber Carpenter, Leon "Lee" Faught IV, Todd Ray Faught and Jaci Noel Faught; great-grandchildren, Aamon, Dante and Luna; Additionally recognized (ex)husband Leon Faught Jr., Sue Oldham and husband, Perry, Dana Faught Cherry, Lyman Abadie and wife, Angela, Mike Humpfrey and wife, Tonja as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well as life-long friend Jennifer House.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bridgeway Hospice for their excellent care, especially Nurse "Angle" Patty.
