A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at First Baptist of Tallulah, LA at 2 PM, a family graveside to follow the service. Benton served his country in Vietnam in the Marine Corp for two tours during the Vietnam war. Benton was preceded in death by his parents, Segis Jackson McKee and Aubrey (Mack ) McKee. Benton is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Cockerham of Carthage, TX; son, Joe Lynn Herndon of Houston, TX; sisters, Ellen Floyd Stennett of Brandon, MS and Patsy Floyd Beard of Ormond Beach, FL; nieces, Elizabeth Stennett Little and Denise Mason Aunts, Sue Pierce of Tallulah, LA; cousins, Tommy Harmon of Tallulah, LA; Paula Smith of Birmingham, AL and numerous great nieces and nephews.
