All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Gus Flurry - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 14, 1958 Gus Flurry Dies Suddenly Last Friday Gus Flurry, age 48, died suddenly about noon last Friday of a heart attack. He was a farmer and had been employed by the Madison Parish School Board as a bus driver for the past three and a half years. He had been a resident of Madison Parish since 1932, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was head of the Citizens' Council in Ward 5. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lucian Conway officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Flurry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lola Flurry; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Brown of Tallulah, and Mrs. D'Elmer Williamson of Fort Riley, Kansas; one grandchild, Debra Brown, Tallulah; five brothers, Clifton Flurry, Des Alamonds, La., Percy Flurry, Lancaster, Penn., Henry Flurry, Bernice, La., Roy Flurry, Goldonna, La., and Thomas Flurry, Sondheimer, La. Pallbearers were L. W. Byrd, Jim Gilfoil, H. N. Pippin, Percy Hammond, Everett Edwards and Ernest Stewart.
