All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Major Lee Fortenberry - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal May 10, 1995 Major Lee Fortenberry died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 64. Mr. Fortenberry was a native of Tylertown, Miss., and later lived in Tallulah where he owned and operated M. L. Fortenberry & Sons trucking company. He was a deacon of First Kingdom Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abrease and Ruth Lewis Fortenberry. He is survived by his wife, Earlene Miller Fortenberry of Tallulah; six sons, M. L. Fortenberry Jr., Glenn Fortenberry, Steve Fortenberry, Michael Fortenberry, James Fortenberry, and Michael Jordan, all of Tallulah; six daughters, Annie Ruth Fortenberry of Las Vegas, Sheila Lisbon of San Fernando, Calif., Jackie Burgess of Hackensack,N.J., Gloria Sanders of Houston, Texas, and Renee Miller and Cheryl Fortenberry, both of Tallulah; three brothers, J. L. Fortenberry of Tylertown and Premium Fortenberry and Edwin Fortenberry, both of New Orleans; eight sisters, Maude Lee Bullock and Vonnie V. Magee, both of Tylertown, Eunice Hamberlin, Mattie Jackson and Betty Fortenberry, all of New Orleans, Mellow C. McGowan of Lumberton, Miss., Norlean Bickham of Franklinton, La., and Laura Magee of Chicago; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Kingdom Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Griffin officiating. Visitation was from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Tennant Funeral Home.
