Freeman Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 5, 1984 Mr. Mark D. Freeman Jr., 59 of 5307 Pine Lawn Drive in Jackson died Friday night at University Medical Center. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Louis Smith and the Rev. Robert Saul officiating. Burial was at 11 a.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg. Freeman was a native of Tallulah, a former resident of Natchez and Vicksburg and had been a resident of Jackson since 1956. He attended Duke University and Louisiana Tech and served in the Navy during World War II. He was executive vice-president of Catfish Farmers of America and was director of regulatory services of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture. While in Natchez, he was associated with the Russell Company and while in Vicksburg he was associated with P. P. Williams Company. He attended Briarwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances Hunt Freeman of Jackson; three sons, Mark D. Freeman III of Long Beach, Calif., Daniel Joseph Freeman of Jackson, Thomas Joseph Hunt Freeman of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Kathlene Henley of Jackson; his mother, Thelma Boswell of Tallulah; a sister Pauline Lees of Monterey, La.; and a number of aunts and uncles. Pallbearers were Bill Carmen, J. M. Jones, James Spencer, Tommy Harrell, Joe Hardy, Paul Sanders, Cooper Walden, Billy Saik. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
