According to Ouachita parish coroner, Dr. J. T. French, said that James Edward Frith, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Frith, died of traumatic brain injury with an intracranial hemorrhage due to an accidental fall. According to Dr. French, the child's parents said that he fell at a water pump around 11:00 A.M. Saturday, but did not seem to be seriously injured. The mother told Dr. French that the child came into the house and complained about the fall. He then layed down and slept. Around mid-afternoon when the child failed to rouse from sleep, parents checked to find that he had a high fever and was suffering convulsions, they told the coroner. The youngster was then rushed a Delhi clinic, and from there was taken to a Monroe hospital, where doctors, after an examination, advised taking him to Charity hospital in Shreveport. He was in the ambulance bound for Shreveport when death came around 12:30 A. M. Sunday. The ambulance had traveled only a short distance from Monroe, Dr. French said. Funeral services were held Monday at 3:00 P. M. at the Montrose Baptist Church with Rev. J. A. Bryant officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
