Gaines - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 19, 1979 Funeral services for Mrs. Helen C. Gaines were held Saturday in First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mrs. Gaines died April 7 in her home after a long illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Madison Parish, and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Paul Gaines of New Orleans and John Gaines of Newhall, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Bercla Dooley of Tallulah; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Bridge of Cocoa, Fla., and Mrs. Made Bradshaw of Lake City, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild. Pallbearers were Bob Goza, John Byram, Louis Buckner, Billy Buckner, Lucian Furr and Robert W. Gandy, Jr.
