Memorial services were held Feb. 17 for Mr. John G. Gaines Sr. of Oceanside, Ca. Arrangements were 
under direction of Eternal Hills Mortuary.

Mr. Gaines, 66, died Feb. 15 at his residence in Oceanside.

Mr. Gaines, the son of the late Paul and Helen Gaines, was born in Tallulah. After a 21-year career 
in the U.S. Air Force, he served 15 years as Chief of Respiratory Therapy for The Kaiser Permanente 
Hospital in Panorama City. He was a longtime resident of the Newhall, Valencia area and retired to Oceanside in 1985.

Survivors include one son, John Gaines Jr.; one brother, Dr. R. G. Gaines of New Orleans; and 
two grandchildren.
