All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Evelyn "Buddy" Mitchell Garrett Madison Parish, LA From Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home November 24, 2015 Evelyn "Buddy" Mitchell Garrett September 10, 1923 - November 23, 2015 Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn "Buddy" Mitchell Garrett, age 92, of Tallulah, La., will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah with Rev.Bill Echols officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service starting at 10:00 A.M., at the church. Burial will be in the Lake Providence City Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, La. Mrs. Garrett died Monday, November 23, 2015 in the Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a sudden death. She was born in Transylvania, La., and had lived in Tallulah for the last thirty years. She was the owner of Twin Oaks Nursery in Transylvania and was a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics for many years. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah. She was a member of the Town and Country Club and a member of several bridge clubs. She always had a smile on her face, and never met a stranger, and always had a good joke to tell. Survivors include three nephews, John H. Maxwell, Jr. and wife, Sue, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Barry L.Maxwell and wife, Anne, of Ferriday, La., and Stephen L. Maxwell and wife, Teresa, of Little Rock, Ar., 2 nieces, Beverly Grafton of Swartz, La., and Marsha Lynn Gates of Monroe, La., 2 step grandsons, Craig Ballard and wife, Vicki, of Hickory, North Carolina, and Derek Ballard of Charleston, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" R. Garrett, her parents, W. B. R. Mitchell and Evalyne Evans Mitchell, a brother Barry Mitchell, and a sister, Claire Maxwell. Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah, La., or St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis, Tn.
