Gilley - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 26, 1958 F. M. Gilley Dies Of Burns Late Sunday Afternoon Frederick M. Gilley, 43, died late Sunday afternoon at a Vicksburg hospital as a result of gasoline burns sustained about a month ago. The accident occurred at Stockland Plantation about nine miles north of Tallulah. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 p. m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lucian Conway officiating. Burial was held in Leeksville, N. C. Crothers Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. He was a native of Leeksville, North Carolina, but had been employed at the Stockland Plantation for the past 10 years as manager. He was president of the Delta Polled Hereford Association. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Betty Gilley; two daughters, Susan, and Betty Lou, all of Tallulah; his parents. Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Gilley of Leeksville, two sisters, Miss Shirley Gilley, Leeksville, and Mrs. J. B. Hoggs, Wingate, N. C., and a brother of the U. S. Marine Corps.
