All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William Addison Gilpin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, July 20, 1942 FORMER RESIDENT OF TALLULAH DIES TALLULAH, La., July 20--William Addison Gilpin, 55, well known resident of Tallulah for many years died at his home at Greenwood, Miss., Sunday after a long illness. He was a native of Madison parish and resided here until he moved to Greenwood, Miss., six years ago. He was formerly a merchant here and operated a movie theatre. He was also bookkeeper for a local firm and had planting interests. He served as a member of the board of stewards of the Methodist church here and was a Mason. Funeral services will be held from the Tallulah Methodist church Tuesday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. Henry A. Rickey officiating assisted by the Rev. W. H. Giles of Homer, a former pastor. Masonic rites will be conducted at Silver Cross cemetery. Mr. Gilpin is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hattie Blair Gilpin, two daughters, Mrs. Edward Heinrich of Virginia and Miss Gloria Gilpin and one grandchild.
