All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William Edward Grady, Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 13, 1982 William Grady Jr. killed in auto accident A Madison Parish man died early Wednesday when the car he was driving went off the road in and struck a parked tractor-trailer rig head-on. William E. "Ed" Grady Jr., 22, of Tallulah, was pronounced dead at the scene according to East Carroll Parish Coroner William Harris. A spokesman for Troop F of the Louisiana State Police said Grady was traveling south on U.S. 65 in a 1982 Buick automobile when he failed to negotiate a curve in Sondheimer and went off the road to the right. The car went into a parking lot and struck the parked eighteen-wheeler head-on, the spokesman said. The wreck occurred at about 3 a. m. but it was not discovered until about 6 a.m. Grady, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William "Billy" Grady Sr., was a 1978 graduate of Tallulah Academy. The younger Grady was farming with his father and was returning home from Lake Village, Ark., at the time of the accident, according to a close friend of the family. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 20, 1982 Services for William Edward Grady, Jr., 22, were at 10 a.m. last Xxxxday in Tallulah Church of Christ under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah with the Revs. Xxxx Alexandria and D.T. Xxxxon officiating. A second service was at 2 p.m. in Sand Hill Church of Auvergna, Ark., under direction of Dillinger Funeral of Newport, Ark. Burialwas in Sand Hill Church of Christ cemetery. Mr. Grady died May 12 from injuries suffered in an automobile wreck. He was a lifelong resident of Madison Parish, a Tallulah Academy graduate and was active in trucking and farming in Madison Parish. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Grady of Tallulah; a brother, Roy Grady of Tallulah; two sisters, Mrs. Debra Machen of Tallulah and Miss Billie Ruth Grady of Monroe. Pallbearers were Charles Grady, Louis Grady, Billy Smith, Roy Barnett, James Marshall, Tony Madden, Henry Grady and Steve Collins.
