All rights reserved. ************************************************ JOSEPH DOUGLAS HALBACH, JR. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Memphis Commercial Appeal, September 23, 2006 JOSEPH DOUGLAS HALBACH, JR., 77, of Germantown, died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at his home. He is a graduate of Northeast LA University, veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean War and retired general manager of Southern Laminating Co. He was a member of Hardy First United Methodist Church having served on the administrative board, finance committee and Methodist Men. He also served on the Hardy City Council, Fire Dept. Records and Former National Vice-President of National Hardwood/Plywood Association, as well as the Lions Club International and Lumbermen's Club of Memphis. He was an avid woodworker and gardener. Survivors include his wife Betty Jo Daugherty Halbach of Germantown; daughter and son-in-law, Doug and Beth Halbach of Germantown; brother, Robert Halbach, of Brandon, MS; and four grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at Hardy United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Monday, September 25, with Reverend Tom Rhoades officiating.
