All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ William Purnell Hendrix - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, December 25, 1959 Final Rites For William Hendrix Held Saturday Final rites were held for William Purnell Hendrix, 32, at 10:30 a. m, last Saturday. He died at the veterans hospital in New Orleans last Wednesday night following surgery. Mr. Hendrix of Florence, Ala, spent most of his youth in Tallulah . The Rev. William F. Mayo, pastor of the Tallulah Methodist Church, officiated, with burial following in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Betty Hendrix; one son, William P. Hendrix, Jr.; his mother, Mrs. Tom Hendrix of Columbia; one brother, Edgar Hendrix, El Paso, Texas ; one sister, Mrs. E. L. Ray, Willette, Calif. Pallbearers were Billy Pemberton, Elmer Neill, Billy Grace, Teddy Thompson, Stuart Moberley, III of Tallulah, and Dr. Claude Smith of Monroe.
