Funeral Home Tallulah, LA April 2025
October 31,
1959 ~ April 9, 2025 65 Years
Old
Billy Ray Hodge was born on October 31, 1959, in Delhi, Louisiana. He
passed away April 9, 2025, at the age of 65.
Billy Ray went to Tallulah High School where he played football and
baseball. Through the years, he enjoyed watching his children participate in
the activities in school. He especially loved watching Ryan play football and
run track. Billy Ray lived in Tallulah for his entire life. He was a farmer for
41 years, and he was proud to retire and let his son, Ryan, and stepson, Korey,
take over the farm. He took great pride in his family and was always glad to
brag on them when he got the chance.
Billy Ray loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever the
season allowed.
He was proud to tell others that he had given his life to Christ and was
blessed with the life that Christ had given him. As a member of First Baptist
Church, he loved his Bible Study class, and he enjoyed the chance to greet
friends and strangers.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles "Billy" Hodge;
stepmother, Josephine Hodge; and brother, Richard "Rickey" Hodge.
He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Smith (Cliff), Victoria Hodge, and
Kimberly Hodge; son, Ryan Hodge; stepsons, Dewayne Olivoe (Mindy), Korey Olivoe
(Samantha); grandchildren, Braxton Halterman, Madelyn Halterman, Colby Smith,
Jay Olivoe, Carter Olivoe, Jeannie Scurria, Ayva Scurria; stepsisters, Billye
Jo Finlayson and Sara Ann Finlayson; stepbrother, Charles Finlayson (Betina);
his beloved aunts, Liz Patin and Mell Roberts; his ex-wives, Yancey Hodge and
Christy Hodge; and his dear friends, Sherman Shaw, Chuck Lynn, David
Richardson, Steve Gustafson, and Sharon Grissom.
His children say that he always managed to keep them "on their
toes." They will miss his big smile and his "daddy" ways, but
his memory will last forever.
Funeral services for Billy Ray will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 14,
2025, at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with Bro. Jay Parker officiating.
