All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Dellie Holmes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 10, 1979 Funeral services for Mrs. Dellie Holmes, Sondheimer were held Monday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. T. H. Mercer officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Holmes died Saturday in Delta Haven Nursing Home after a long illness. She was a Sandford, Miss. native and a 25-year resident of Sondheimer. Survivors include seven sons, Xxxx Holmes and Vernon Holmes, Lake Providence, J. W. Holmes of Transylvania, Cecil Holmes of Eros, Clayton Holmes of Houston, Virgil Holmes of Chattsworth, Ga., and Sedgie Holmes of Rayville; four daughters, Mrs. Rachel Moreno of Houston, Mrs. Allene McKenzie of Arabi, Mrs. Gladys Marsh and Mrs. Annie Lou Pearson, both of Transylvania; five sisters, Mrs. Pellie Crosby of Petal, Miss., Mrs. Ancie Shores of Logansport, Mrs. Verdell Shoemake of Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. Shellie Hatten of Sumrall, Miss. and Mrs. Mary Holmes of Orange, Texas; 40 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holmes' grandsons were pallbearers.
