Holt - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal April 12, 1968 Funeral Services Held Thursday For Former Resident Funeral services for Russell R. Holt, former resident and former deputy sheriff of Madison Parish who died of a heart attack Tuesday at his home in Metairie, La., were held at 10 a. m. Thursday at the Tallulah Methodist Church. Services were conducted by the Rev. Clark Bell. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Old Southern Mortuary. Mr. Holt was serving as deputy sheriff of Jefferson Parish at the time of his death. He had been living in Metairie for the past ten years. He was a member of the National Sheriff's Association, the Louisiana Sheriff's Association, the Louisiana Peace Officers Association, the Louisiana Association for Identification. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a Mason. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Madeline Holt of Metairie; his mother, Mrs. Kelly Holt; a son Russell G. Holt; four daughters, Miss Beverly Holt, of Metairie; Mrs. W. H. King of Honolulu, Hawaii; Mrs. Gene Cox of Tallulah, Mrs. Al Montgomery of Hammond; a brother, Lloyd G. Holt of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Simmons of Los Angeles, Miss Maxine Holt and Miss Bobby Holt, both of Tallulah and seven grandchildren.
