All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Benjamin Isbell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Joplin (MO) Globe January 2, 2008 TALLULAH, La. — Benjamin Isbell, age 61, of Tallulah, La., passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, following a sudden illness in Vicksburg, Miss. Benjamin was born on Sept. 18, 1946, in Seneca, Mo. He graduated from Seneca High School before enlisting in the Air Force where after more than 20 years he retired as a tech sergeant in 1992. Benjamin married Frankie Louise Thornton on Sept. 18, 1970. She preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 2001. He is survived by two sons, Benjamin Alex Isbell, of the state of Maryland, and Matthew Isbell, of DeQuincy, La.; one daughter, Jennifer Gross and her husband, Michael, of Canehill, Ark.; his mother, Catherine Van Trease Isbell, of Joplin; three brothers, David, John and Tim Isbell; one sister, Sandy Isbell; and two grandchildren, Ava Rose and Aiden Michael Gross. He is also survived by his long time companion, Joanne Muskgrove. He was preceded in death by his father, David Isbell; and one brother, Jim Isbell. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Jack Daniels officiating. Interment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin.
