Irby - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 26, 1952 I. R. Irby, Tallulah Visitor, Dies In Fall. From Scaffold I. R. Irby, 60, well known in Tallulah where he has been a frequent visitor at the homes of C. M. and C. H. Whittaker, fell and broke his neck, when a scaffold on which he was working on a construction project in New Orleans, collapsed, according to reports received here. He was known as an enthusiastic hunter in the Tallulah area. The accident that cost him his life occurred Tuesday, September 16, the funeral arrangements being handled by the Crothers Funeral Home. Funeral services were under the direction of the Rev. R. A. Coulter of the Bethel Baptist Church, Tallulah. Mr. Irby is survived by a sister, Mrs. Katie McGill of Port Arthur; a nephew, Charles H. Whittaker of Tallulah; and two nieces, Miss Mandy McGill and Mrs. Katie Finley of Rayville.
