SHREVEPORT, LA-Funeral services celebrating the life of Edith Geneva Howard Johnson will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel on Marshall Street. Officiating will be Rev. Conrad Edwards. Interment will follow at Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Geneva was born June 16, 1936 in Tallulah, Louisiana and went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 15, 2013 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, C.F. Howard and Laveda Frith Howard; husband, Ronald L. Johnson; and daughter, Dawn Edith Johnson. Left to cherish her precious memory is her son, Raymond Devlin; sisters, Jeanie Christesen, Brenda Howard Jones, and Betty Joyce Roberts; brothers, Alfred Howard, Jimmy Ray Howard, and Loyce "Buster" Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Geneva was very close to her niece Sherri Daly who cared for her during her illness. Geneva was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A special thank you from Geneva's family to the staff of Cornerstone Village South, Hospice of Acadiana and Nalanie Guidry for their loving care of her during her illness.
