She died May 29, 2001, at a Tallulah nursing home. She was born in Monroe, La., the daughter of Fred E. and Lila Pipes. She earned a degree in music at Louisiana Tech University. Mrs. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church in Shreveport, La., Daughters of the American Revolution, the Business Women's Association and the Arts Guild in Bossier City, La. She was an officer for many years in the Beta Sigma Phi organization. She married Sgt. Harold C. Jones. He preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Dale Jones, Tallulah, Dr. Hal Jones, Alma, Kan., and Ric Jones, Great Meadows, N.J.; four grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat- grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Department at the First Baptist Church in Shreveport, 543 Ockley Drive, Shreveport, La., 71106; or to the charity of the donor's choice. Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street Chapel in Tallulah is in charge of arrangements.
