Mr. James Edward Jones passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at his home
with his loving wife by his side. Born in Tallulah, Louisiana on July 2,
1956, to Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Jones, Jug spent his childhood in Madison Parish
where he graduated from Tallulah High School in 1974 and then continued his
education at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. He returned to
Madison Parish where he spent the next forty-four years as the Safety
and Environmental Director for Complex Chemicals.
Jug was a believer in the Lord and served others through numerous
community service endeavors with The Benevolent and Protective Order of
the Elks Lodge 95 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Mr. Jones achieved all levels
of the order, “he set all the chairs,” and resumed his position as a
member of the lodge. In addition, Mr. Jones loved the outdoors and was a
devoted fan of the LSU Fighting Tigers.
Jug is survived by his wife Andrea of Delta, Louisiana; daughter April
Coody of Tallulah, Louisiana; stepdaughter Michaela Tarver (Thomas) of
Vicksburg, Mississippi; granddaughter Kimber Bauer of Tallulah, Louisiana;
siblings Mary Ann Vining of Minden, Louisiana; Alice Carson of Delhi,
Louisiana; Edith Mitchell of Madison, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and
nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Roy Lee Allen, his
oldest sister Louise Glass all from Tallulah, Louisiana as well as Billy Ray
Jones of Decatur, Texas.
The celebration of life honoring Jug will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025, at
2:00 at Mound Baptist Church with Brother Steve Hillman officiating.
Memorials honoring Jug may be made to Elks National Foundation Lodge 95.
