All rights reserved. **************************************************************************************************************************************** Robert Russell Jones, Jr. Madison Parish, LA From Monroe Morning World August 10, 1969 LAKE PROVIDENCE (Special) — Tommy Wilson Webb, 21, and Robert Russell Jones, 17, of Sondheimer were killed when their car struck a large transport truck, according to state police investigating the accident. Police said the car was traveling about 100 miles per hour when it went into a curve, left the road, skipped across a culvert, returned to the highway and smashed into the truck. Funeral services for the Russell youth will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers Funeral Chapel in Tallulah. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Cemetery in Tallulah. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Russell Jones of Sondheimer; two sisters, Mrs. Eddie Stanley and Miss Joyce Ann Jones, both of Sondheimer; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Jones of Sondheimer; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Johnny Lee Happies of Lake Providence. Pallbearers will be Robert Bullen, Lonnie Styron, Lonnie Styron Jr., James DeWitt, Billy Tate and Eddie Stanley.
