All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Susie Jones - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 31, 1974 Mrs. Susie Jones Services were held Thursday for Mrs. Susie Jones, 79, at the First Baptist Church of Tallulah. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Crawford and the Rev. James Messer. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones died Wednesday morning in Mercy Hospital at Vicksburg, after a lengthy illness. A native of Crystal Springs, Miss., she had had resided in Tallulah for 43 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Madison Parish Garden Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Jones was also a Gold Star Mother of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons, Burney Jones of Tallulah and Jack Jones of Fort Worth, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Virgil Downing of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Houston McLaurin of Laurel, Miss., and Mrs. Joe Peskin of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Jeff Goza, Joe Reynolds, Herbert Jones, Freddie Helton, Bill Stanton and J. W. Deason.
