All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Hattie Kathan - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 4, 1961 Services Held Tuesday for Mrs. Hattie Kathan Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Kathan, 68, prominent Tallulah resident who died Sunday night, was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 :00 o'clock at the Tallulah Methodist Church. The Rev. Wilson Watson, pastor of the church officiated and interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral home. Mrs. Kathan was ill for around a year. A native of Brinkley, Arkansas, Mrs. Kathan was widow of the late Lee J. Kathan and a member of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Kathan is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Francis Craig, and Mrs. Jo Ann Scott, both of Tallulah three brothers, B. C. Brown, Texarkana, Arkansas, Kennith Brown, Walter Brown, both of Brinkley, Arkansas; a sister, Mrs. Carrie B. Hudson, Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Walter M. Scott, III, Susan Scott, Joseph Kathan Scott and Lee Craig, and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Rufus Yerger, J. H. Bryant, Cliff Adams, Malcolm Cagnolatti, Salo Abrahm, Warren Patrick, J. C. Sherwin and Fred Frazier, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Frazier, Sr., Dr. H. S. Provine, Dr. A. Street of Vicksburg, Fay Hurley, E. M. Jones, Fred Frazier, Sr., George Atkins and Glenn Whetstone.
