Kell - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 28, 1983 Funeral services for Miss Elizabeth P. Kell, 82, of New Orleans were Held at 10 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah with the Rev. Xxxxi Xxlligan officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Miss Kell died Thursday at her home in New Orleans of a heart attack. She was a native of Madison Parish and had lived in New Orleans for the past 25 years. She was a former news reporter and editor for the New Orleans Item, a former public relations manager of the Roosevelt Hotel, a former employee of the National American Xxxxx and a former school teacher. An alumnus of All Saints School in Vicksburg and Newcomb College in New Orleans, she was a member of Christ Church Cathedral in New Orleans, of which she was also a member of St. Mary's Chapter of the Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, a member of Petite-Salon of New Orleans, and had worked for many years for the preservation of the historic French Quarter. She was once chosen the year's outstanding resident by the French Quarter Residents Association. Survivors include a sister, Cornelia Kell of Tallulah; a niece, Mrs. Judy Kell Morris of Jackson, Miss.; one great-niece and two great-nephews. Pallbearers were Kirk Morley, Edgar Lancaster, Cliff Adams, all of Tallulah; Leo Miller, King Trieschmann and Barry Mitchell, all of Lake Providence. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Terrall Williams of New Orleans and Dr. James P. Guerrerio of Vicksburg. The family asks that memorials be sent to Trinity Episcopal Church, Christ Church Cathedral or the Heart Fund.
