Kelley - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 13, 1975 Abner W. Kelley Funeral services for Abner W. Kelley, Columbus, Ga., a former Tallulah resident were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Crothers Funeral Home Rev. James Messer officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Kelley died Sunday in Columbus, apparently having been beaten to death. Officials there say an investigation is continuing. He was a native of Mississippi and had resided in Tallulah for several years. He was also a veteran of WW II, the Korean War and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Etta Dean Kelley of Hattiesburg, Miss.; three daughters, Mrs. Alisa Ware, Miss Linda Joe Kelley and Miss Kathy Kelley, all of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one son, Kenneth Kelley of Hattiesburg, Miss.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Kelley of Tallulah; one brother, Elmer H. Kelley of Bastrop; one sister, Mrs. Faye Welch of Tallulah; and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Patricia Bowma of Tallulah. Pallbearers included Jimmy Ezell, D. L. Whittington, Richard Marshall, John Owens, Aubrey Frith and Bilbo Wilson.
