All rights reserved. ************************************************ Madge Morton Kennon - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Lafayette Advertiser April 6, 2004 LAFAYETTE Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Madge Morton Kennon, 92, who died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Maison de Lafayette. The Rev. F. Christopher Duhon, associate pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, will officiate. The rite of committal will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Kennon, the daughter of the late Arthur Wilson Morton and the former Leona Cox, was a native of Tallulah and a resident of Lafayette. Mrs. Kennon was a devoted nurse having worked at Lafayette General Medical Center for ten years then went over to do private duty nursing for another five years before she retired. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons, Herbert M. Wood and wife, Therese, of Lafayette, Donald Kennon and wife, Germaine, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Herbert P. Wood, Sherry Goudeau, Angela Douet, Kara Boudreaux and Dawn Needham; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul A. Kennon; and two brothers, Arthur Wilson Morton and Harry Don Morton. Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services. Pallbearers will be Herbert P. Wood, Greg Goudeau, Tony Douet, Nathan Boudreaux, Neil Needham and Jeff Morton. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, (337) 235-9449, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
