Kern - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 3, 1978 The funeral of Mrs. Mildred B. Kern, 86, of Tallulah, was held Monday at the Fisher Funeral in Vicksburg, Miss. with Rabbi Allen Schwartzman officiating. Burial was in the Jewish Cemetery in Vicksburg. Mrs. Kern died Sunday at the Mercy Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg after a lengthy illness. She was a native of New York and lived in Tallulah for the past 26 years. She was the widow of Jacob Kern who died in 1952. She was a member of the Anshe Chesed Congregation. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Bloom Drug Co., of Tallulah. Survivors include one son, Leo Kern of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Lou K. Ginsberg of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one sister, Miss Ida Bloom of Tallulah; one brother, Ralph Bloom of Tallulah; six grandchildren; and other relatives. Pallbearers were Leon Minsky, James D. Caldwell, J. D. Caldwell, Dr. Jerry Rankin, Macy Hart, and Milton Schlesinger.
