Keyes died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 83. Mrs. Keyes was born in Natchez and had lived in Tallulah for 65 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Franklin Keyes Sr.; and two grandchildren, Marla Michelle Smith and Barry Allen Armstrong. She is survived by four sons, Edgar R. Keyes and Charles Edward Keyes, both of Tallulah, Joseph F. Keyes Jr. of Farmerville, La., and Robert Wayne Keyes of Vicksburg; six daughters, Jeanette Boman and Marilyn Armstrong, both of Quitman, Katherine Hurley of Monroe, Betty Lou Miles of Lake Providence, Peggy Keyes Smith of Tallulah and Sandy Bowden of Lloyd of Guntown, Miss.; one brother, William Walter Bearden of Crowville, La.; one sister, Dorothy Burris of Malvern, Ark.; 39 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
