All rights reserved. ************************************************ Jewel Brown King - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, September 5, 2004 TALLULAH — Jewel Brown King died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 88. Mrs. King was born in Ida, La., and was a longtime resident of Madison Parish. She was a retired social worker for the State of Louisiana, a school teacher and a nursing home administrator. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry King Sr.; an infant son, Frank Lewis King; two brothers, Belvin Bonner Brown and Sen. Charles Brown, and a sister, Bertha Jane Brown. She is survived by a son, William Henry King Jr., of Walnut Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Jane Eiland of Delhi and Charlynne King Paxton of Tallulah; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service in the fellowship hall. Services are under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
