All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Robert James Kivett Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home March 31, 2016 Robert James Kivett Sr. January 27, 1940 - March 28, 2016 Mr. Robert James "Big Papa" Kivett, Sr., of Richmond, Louisiana passed away at the age of 76 on Monday, March 28, 2016. Robert was born on January 27, 1940 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was self-employed at Kivett's Electrical Heating and Cooling for twenty-five years. He has served as mayor for the Village of Richmond for the past 17 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah, Louisiana. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Henry Kivett, Sr. and Evelyn Mullally Kivett Daigre and a brother, Edward Henry Kivett, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanie Roberson Kivett; four children, Michele Kivett LaHaye and husband Danny of Mamou, Louisiana, Robert James Kivett,Jr. and wife Tori, Richard Alan Kivett, Sr. and wife Kayla, all of Tallulah, and Deirdre Kivett Simmons and husband Jimmy of Monroe, Louisiana, twelve grandchildren: Zachary LaHaye, Samuel LaHaye,and Madeline LaHaye Stromer of Mamou, Louisiana; Robert James Kivett,III, Katherine Kivett, Parker Kivett, Evelyn Kivett, Hunter Sullivan, Alan Kivett,and Faith Kivett, all of Tallulah, Louisiana; and Klaci Simmons and Marly Simmons of Monroe, Louisiana; seven great-grandchildren: Leo, Georgiana, August, James Patrick LaHaye, and Violet and Dominic Stromer, all of Mamou, Louisiana; a sister, Carolynn Kivett Lauga and husband Jimmy of Slidell, Louisiana; a brother, Richard Taylor Kivett of Sun, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Zachary LaHaye, Samuel LaHaye, Robert James Kivett, III, Parker Kivett, Alan Kivett, James Lauga, Curt Collins, Dave Collins, Van Waites, and Mark Rottenberry. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Lopez,Bill Windham, Preston Walker, Tommy Wixson, Jack Dowe, Jr.,Bobby Ezell, Patrick Smith, Johnny Goss, and Ralph Dowe. Visitation was held from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M.,with funeral service at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Tallulah, Louisiana, with Bro. Jason McGuffie officiating. Burial was held at Memorial Park Cemetery Memorials may be made to a church of your choice, to the Tallulah Academy Track fund at 700 Wood Street, Tallulah, Louisiana, 71282, or River Oaks Varsity Softball Fund at 600 Finks Hideaway Road, Monroe, Louisiana, 71203. The family would like to thank Dr. Bryan Barksdale, Nurse Roma, Dr. Albritton and all their medical staff, as well as, University Medical Center Cardiology Unit for taking such great care of our beloved husband and father.
