Laird - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal January 1, 1997 Services for Jesse J. Laird, 87, of Tallulah were held Friday, Dec. 27, 1996 at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Rushing and Rev. Tim Watson officiating. Burial was in Rayville. Laird died Dec. 25, 1996 in Vicksburg Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Rayville. He was employed with The Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries since 1942 and retired as game warden. He was a member of the Louisiana A.F.S.C.M.E. Retirees. Laird was an honorary member of the Louisiana Sheriff Association. He was a member of Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife of 69 years: Beulah Washam Laird of Tallulah; daughter, Ann McCarty of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Gene Laird of Tallulah, John Laird and Allan Laird, both of Delhi; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and brother Lovie Laird of Pioneer. Pallbearers will be Freddy Morgan, Randy Morgan, Red Emfinger Jr., Jerry Wilson, Harmon Smith and Billy Faught.
